Board Game Vlog #10 with Maggibot

There are so many neat Kickstarters out this week! I’m sad about some of the timing as I am keeping my budget back for GenCon. Maybe getting the word out is payment enough?

Florenza I had to look twice as my first impression was of a stuffy, overused theme. Then looking deeper the game flourishes in low random nature and the theme doesn’t matter!

Fidelitas is just beautiful, tongue-in-cheek card game! They really knocked this out of the park.

Lift Off is coming along really well for a new designer. The campaign is polished, thorough and it seems that he really did his homework.

Redacted is super intriguing! I love hidden identities, negotiation and the minimalist cover is just perfect.

Wizard Dodgeball is silly, quick and the card mechanic works really well!

Board Game Vlog #8 with Maggibot

This week I received a kickstarter reward for Elevenses from Adventureland Games! This is a small card game with a fun teatime twist…
Aquasphere from Stefan Feld has hit kickstarter from TMG to be funded within 10 days!

Played my first game of Vinhos this week. I found it to be fun and complicated… but I mostly wanted to play more CO2 afterward!
Magnum Opus’ components are a total turn off. I love alchemy themes and fun mad-scientist stuff, but the rules need some editing to take out some of the randomness.
lastly though… just avoid the Archer board game. just no, don’t.

Lagoon Review and Kickstarter Preview

Taking a look at Lagoon from 3hares Games. Visit their Kickstarter here:

This is a fabulous 2-3 person tile game. It does feel a little like an abstract strategy game, though David has taken care to weave his theme into every aspect of play.

I have personally backed this game and hope that you will do the same. It is as polished and political as one could ask for a game from a small publisher.

Euphoria Review and Thoughts and Dystopias… er whatever

A look into Euphoria: Building a Better Dystopia

This is 2-6 player game that plays in around 60 minutes.

My thoughts on the game begin at minute 24… and my tangents go a little undone. whoops!!

I found the bits in the box to be superb! Beautifully done. The strategy is not deep, but the politics and faction-play keeps the game exciting.
